The mission:

Today, development of publishing content makes up the heart of the Glénat Group’s know-how, and is its principal activity, representing nearly 80% of its turnover.
Notably, publishing constitutes 70% of the Group’s activities, of which comic strip takes the lion’s share.
Around the core business of publishing, the Group is also developing an accompanying strategy with complementary activities: production, distribution, bookshops and licensing… This set of activities currently represents about 20% of the Group’s activities.

The workforces:

The Glénat Group has seen strong development, doubling its turnover since 1999, achieving a nearly 15% average annual growth over the period.
The total manpower has evolved in the same way, in order to keep up with this development: it has nearly doubled between 1999 and 2007, and is now up to 200.

So, besides being of a relatively young average age for the field of publishing (35 years), the group’s employees are today characterised by their dynamism and passion: every employee in fact develops on a daily basis his or her passion for Comic Strip, Mountains, the Sea, and Nature...
The Group is based today in 4 different sites in France (Grenoble, Meylan, Issy les Moulineaux and Douarnenez), and 4 sites outside France (Brussels, Barcelona and Nyon). The Books division takes up nearly 35% of the workforce, the press division almost one quarter, which illustrates the strength enjoyed currently by this activity. The rest of the workforce is divided between the central division, international division, production and licensing.
