Glénat’s press subsidiary is structured within the logical extension of the publishing axes
of Books, thus capitalising on their know-how with regard to contents, human passion
and regional positioning of the group.
So Glénat Média is present in Mountains Press (with Ski Magazine, and also L’Alpe), in Maritime Press (with Chasse-Marée), and Comic strip Press (with Tchô Mégazine, Dragon
Ball, and Vécu)
Mountains division
Ski Magazine describes itself as the magazine for all kinds of skiing sports. Piste, off-piste,
competition, freestyle, all styles and all levels of ability are catered for. Originally bought
by the group in 1997 from the French Ski Federation, under the name of Ski Français, the
magazine changed name and formula in September 2003, to become Ski Magazine. It
regularly includes special items devoted specifically to certain ski forms: nordic skiing, freeride,...
The first magazine created by Glénat Presse in 1994, the bi-monthly Aérial is the magazine
for free-flight and, more generally, all aerial sports. From paragliding to gliding, passing
through hang-gliding, fly surfing, micro lights or ballooning, Aérial explores the world of
the sky in its practical and scientific enormity.
Another creation: L’Alpe, launched in 1997, is a top-of-the-range quarterly magazine
aimed at lovers of alpine culture and patrimony.
Sea division
Created in 1981, Chasse-Marée was acquired by Glénat
in February 2003, thus giving the Group a presence in
the maritime press. Every issue of this superb bi-monthly
(whose layout is being reformulated at the end of 2003)
relates to its avid followers the history of man and the
sea...
